Debra Schapiro, LPCC

My Story

Debra Schapiro is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC Kentucky).  Debra holds a Master’s in Education specializing in Community Mental Health from the University of Texas at El Paso.  With twenty years of clinical experience in mental health counseling working with people of all ages, children and adolescent therapy, (covering issues like stress, anxiety, depression, developmental growth), young adult and adult group and individual therapy.

Debra’s passion and specialty focuses on a holistic approach to improve the individual and relationships.  She has worked with issues involving depression, grief, loss, anger and stress.  In addition to her expertise in art therapy, Debra has studied children’s literature, mindfulness in support of emotional regulation, how the brain and body works to support mental health and growth. 

Debra engages in Tai Chi exercise, enjoys artistic/creative experience including listening to various kinds of music and loves animals.
